Cereals 2025: Budget Turkish sprayer maker targets UK market

Hailing from the central Turkish city of Konya, crop sprayer maker Ontar had made the journey to this year’s Cereals event with the hope of breaking into the UK market.

One of the machines to which it had pinned its hopes is the Atrox Kompact trailed, seen here with a 3,000-litre tank and 18m boom, priced at £25,000.

Key structural parts – the galvanised steel frame and boom and plastic tank – are manufactured in-house, but the rest of the components are provided by established players.

These include a five-cylinder Bertolini pump and a smattering of Arag gear, including seven section control valves and a Bravo 400S auto rate controller.

Nozzle bodies on this machine were provided by Technomec, but Teejet and Arag are on the options list. Tank sizes range from 600 to 6,000 litres, and it can be fitted with booms up to 32m wide.

Though unknown in the UK, the firm has been building sprayers for 50 years and sells in 45 countries, including Bulgaria, Slovenia and Spain.
