Bednar Neveon targets N efficiency gains with fert injection
© Bednar Buyers of Bednar’s new Neveon fertiliser injection toolbar could be rewarded with some serious nitrogen efficiency gains, the company says.
Like other implements of this type, it uses spoked stainless-steel wheels on a toolbar to squirt liquor into the crop’s rooting zone, typically at a depth of 7-10cm.

There are two pump options – offering flow rates of 166 or 274 litres/min from the 8,000-litre chassis-mounted tank – and three boom sizes: 12m, 15m or 18m wide.
Application can be controlled in 2m sections, and wheel spacing altered through six settings from 28 to 80cm to suit different crop rows.
The total outfit weighs about 13t and folds to under 3m wide and 4m tall for transport.
Though the spoked wheel toolbar brings added cost and complexity compared with conventional application methods, Bednar’s trials suggest potential wheat yield and protein improvements of 9% and 20%, respectively, compared with a granular spreader.
The implement can also be used for other liquids, such as biological stimulants.
