14th swine fever case confirmed
By FWi staff
THE Ministry of Agriculture has confirmed a 14th case of classical swine fever, on a farm in south-east Norfolk.
A MAFF spokeswoman said the outbreak has occurred within an existing movement restriction area, close to where five other cases were found.
These are in the MAFF infected area covering incidents labelled SF2000/4,5,6 12 and 13.
But as a result of the new case, the restriction zone on the Norfolk/Suffolk border will be extended on its western boundary to cover 10 more farms.
The MAFF spokeswoman said tests were currently taking place to establish the source of the outbreak.
