2000 letters stolen from Brown

FARM Minister Nick Brown has discovered that two thousand items were stolen from his postbag within a month, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Mr Brown has written to the Speaker of the House of Commons apologising for not answering earlier correspondence.

The minister said the letters were stolen during journeys bringing mail from MAFF to his office in Parliament.

MAFF said the missing items included ministerial correspondence, press releases and items from the library of the House, but nothing of a secure nature.

All items were recovered unopened, and the ministry now deals with all mail in-house.

The Telegraph says a man was questioned by police, but it was unclear on Sunday (15 October) night whether charges would be brought.
