Adjuvant speeds up weed control

FASTER, better and cheaper weed control is the claim Loveland industries make for multi-action adjuvant Torpedo II.

Mixes with two-third rates of herbicides Boxer (florasulam), Eagle (amidosulfuron), Monitor (sulfosulfuron), Platform S (carfentrazone-ethyl + mecoprop-P) and EF1166 (metosulam + fluroxypyr) on wheat at Scott Abbot Arable Crop Station proved as effective as full-rates of the herbicides alone, it says.

"And the savings on reduced rate more than offset the cost of the Torpedo," says technical director, David Foster.

Three active ingredients in the adjuvant help the herbicides penetrate, stick and spread on the leaves.

Cost is £25/litre which, at an inclusion rate of 0.1% of spray volume, works out at £5/ha for a 200 litres/ha spray volume. &#42
