African farmers to holiday in Britain?

BRITISH farmers are being urged to give free holidays to farmers from Zimbabwe, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Wiltshire producer George Campbell-Johnston, a member of the Southern Africa Business Association, said Zimbabwean farmers faced immense pressure.

He called for British farmers to offer a “safe place” to Zimbabwean farmers who have suffered from killings, beatings and having their land seized.

The Commercial Farmers Union in Harare said its members would welcome a free break in England before returning home to face their problems.

The idea has been backed in Britain by the Country Landowners Association and the Royal Agricultural Society of England.
