NOVEL, higher value crop varieties aimed at specific markets are expected to flow from a new research link between DuPont and Pioneer Hi-Bred International.

Under the arrangement DuPont is buying 20% of Pioneers stock for $1.7bn. A separate joint venture company, Optimum Quality Grains, is also being set up to develop and market genetically modified crops and existing products from the two firms.n
