Anglo Beef sign-up

ANGLO Beef Producers has begun signing up the first 10,000 bulls reared from calves formerly destined for the calf processing aid scheme to produce P and O- grade beef cattle for manufacturing.

Contracts are being negotiated to agree rearing costs and margin to be paid to individual producers. This means finishers will be pitted against each other to secure contracts for an annual demand that could reach 70,000 cattle a year.

Dalgety will co-ordinate the calf buying, rearing and finishing which will see the first cattle enter ABPs plants at Perth, York, Shrewsbury and Ellesmere this time next year. &#42
