Just in time for the beginning of the festive season, two litters of Plum Pudding pigs have arrived. Popular in the 19th century, the spotted breed had all but disappeared until ADAS and Melton Mowbray-based pork pie specialist Dickinson and Morris, revived it by crossing a Tamworth boar with Berkshire gilts. The aim of the project is to enhance the traditional taste of the pies so the proof of the Puddings will be in the eating.
