Over 300 West Country farmers attended the first in a series of nationwide Health and Safety Awareness days at Wadebridge, Cornwall, last week. Farmers were "encouraged" to turn up at the event by the Health and Safety Executive, which removed the names of those that attended from an inspection list. Those who stayed away will soon be subjected to an on-farm visit by the HSE as it strives to cut the toll of death and injury.
