uSAC, in partnership with the Ministries of Agriculture of the UK, Holland and Germany, has been awarded an k8m (£4.9m) contract for two development projects in Romania. The SAC will spend two years in Romania from early 2001 advising on preparations for the countrys EU entry. The first project, in conjunction with the Romanian government, will provide support for policy development in the agricultural, rural and food sectors. The second project aims to improve the capabilities of Romanias vet service to enforce veterinary standards in line with EU rules.
