E-delivery… Norfolk farmer James Brown, the first to trade on the new globalfarmers web-site after it went live last week, receives 13t of compound fertiliser from J & &#42 Bunn of Great Yarmouth. Delivery to Grange Farm, Langley, Norfolk was just three days after ordering and at a competitive price, he says. However, slow internet access speed is a big barrier to such on-line purchases, he adds. The site, which now offers over 1000 products, received 240,000 hits in the first two days and has 4500 registered farms, claims globalfarmers Roger Young. However, very little trade has been done so far, mainly because direct debits take 10 days to arrange, he admits.
