Having too little money and being in debt are the worst aspects of university life, according to new research from the UNITE Group and MORI.

Students typically predict theyll owe more than £7000 by the time they leave university and even those living at home expect to owe £5900, reveals the data covering more than 1000 undergraduates and postgraduates.

Nearly 90% get financial help from their parents, guardian, partner or other family member and one-third of students have worked part-time during term while at uni.

Prof Bob Worcester, chairman of MORI, says: "Todays students focus on gaining good qualifications to help them find the right job. While they are happy with their choice of university and recognise that university studies are a wise investment in their future, they are worried about their debts."
