uBAYER has taken on the manufacture and marketing of metosulam from Dow AgroSciences. The herbicide is only sold as EF1166, a co-formulation with fluroxypyr in the UK, and controls a wide range of weeds species including cleavers, chickweed, forget-me not, brassica weeds and legumes.
uDACTHAL (chlorthal-dimethyl) is again available to UK growers, says supplier Hortichem. The pre-emergence herbicide, which has been unavailable for the past two years, controls a wide range of weeds, including chickweed, fat hen, knotgrass, nettles and speedwell in a range of mainly horticultural crops.
uOMEX Agriculture has installed a new production facility at Ternhill in Shropshire to service the West Midlands following significant growth in demand for liquid fertiliser over the past five years. The new facility will be fully operational for spring 2001 season. *
