A fierce demand for in-calf heifers pushed averages to £973, up £364 on the year at the Luing Cattle Societys fixture at Castle Douglas. Leading the way was an in-calf heifer from Robert McNees Benhar Herd in West Lothian. Bulling heifers from the same stable sold to 950gns. The eight bulls sold averaged £3045, up £787 on the year, with top price going to Benhar Action Man at 5000gns (Wallets Marts).
