Beware frost damage to maize
MAIZE maturity is advancing well with dry matters increasing by 2% on average. But growers are warned to be aware of the effects of frosts which can increase dry matter content but reduce quality, according to Mike Warden, technical manager of Grainseed. Harvest in the east and south is now well under way with most growers cutting at the 28-30% mark, he reports. *
