CURRENT laws fail to deal adequately with the wider impacts of genetically modified crops.

That was one of the central conclusions from Richard Macrory, author of the report from this years National Biotechnology Conference which was held in March. He added there was concern that widespread use of GM crops might constrain or inhibit the development of less intensive or organic farming.
