Biotal invents lacewings shelter

Cardiff-based bio-technology company, Biotal Industrial Products, has developed a chamber in which lacewings can shelter during the cold weather. Larva from lacewings can consume 300 aphids – during the larvas growth period – which helps eliminate pests from plants without resorting to chemical insecticides. Although lacewings have a proven track record in the fight against aphids, unfortunately they cannot survive winter temperatures.
