Boom for Malaysian plantations
MALAYSIAS top plantations company, Golden Hope, reported a 60% rise in net profit to M$446.8m (£65m) for the year to 30 June, despite revenues remaining flat.
The company mainly produces palm oil and is paid in dollars. The rise was helped by the depreciation of the Malaysian Ringgit against the US Dollar.
Revenues rose from M$1.51bn to M$1.55bn.
