MILK producers caught up in the selective cull of BSE cohorts have been granted special dispensation to lease out their quotas after the Dec 31 deadline, so long as they register their intention to do so before that date.

"Producers who believe they may be affected and left with surplus unused, permanently held quota are invited to complete a declaration of intention form, MQ39," says the Intervention Board.

Forms are available by phoning the IB on (0118-9531888). Sub-mission of the form will place no obligation on producers, but will safeguard their position if cows are removed from their herds under the selective cull before Apr 1, 1998. &#42
