Cash for tourism

THE north of England received a boost this week with the launch of an £11.4m investment programme to promote farm tourism.

The money has been secured under the EU Commissions Objective 5b scheme. Funding worth £1.1m has also been announced to help regenerate farm woodlands in North Yorkshire.

Junior farm minister Elliot Morley said the projects were an excellent example of what could be achieved under the EU Commissions Objective 5b scheme, where funding is provided jointly by the EU, national government and local industry partnerships.
