Co-op nets organic grain deal

MARKETING co-op Group Cereal Services is to sell all the grain supplied by the Organic Arable Marketing Group, about 10,000t this marketing year.

Discussions with major buyers have started, says managing director Patrick Davies.

Given the growth of organic produce, this seems a natural development to the range of services we offer our customers.

The move makes GCS the biggest single source of organic combinable crops in the UK, he adds.

Co-op membership now extends to more than 800 farms.
