THE International Coffee Organisation is planning a second campaign to promote coffee in Russia and China this year following this years initiative.
The campaign aims to overcome cultural resistance to coffee in both countries. In China, many believe that coffee “keeps you awake at night, heats the blood and is bad for the skin”. The Chinese believe strongly in the beneficial effects of tea.
Events sponsored this year in both countries have been coffee tastings, media briefings and university campus activities.
