Commercial black & whites in favour
MILKY commercial black and white cows found favour with buyers when the milking portion and crop of served heifers from Messrs John Carter (Farms) came under the hammer in Oxfordshire.
There were seven bids over 700gns with a top of 770gns paid by M M Davies and Sons from Marlborough, Wilts for a fresh third calf daughter of Etazon Hokes that had given over 8000kg.
Hokes daughters sold well but progeny of Lylehaven Southwind Ganwind were equally fancied. His best daughter made 740gns.
Main buyer was D Alderman who made the long journey from Pembrokeshire to claim 30 head.
