Essex Police appeal for information on a badger shooting
ESSEX POLICE is asking the farming community to assist with its investigation of a badger shooting.
A female badger was found dead by a dog walker on Sun Aug 7 in the Harrow Cross area of Sible Heddingham in North Essex
In the immediate vicinity of the carcass were two fired shotgun shells. Following an examination by a local vet it was found that the badger had been shot by a shotgun.
Essex police has said that anyone with information about this crime or about persons who have legitimate permission to shoot in that area should contact APS Rob Temme 955 based at Colchester Police station on 01206 762212 or by Email Rob.temme@essex.pnn.police.uk or call CrimeStoppers 0800 100 111
“This appears to be a totally unnecessary act,” said APS Temme. “This is the kind of incident which can put farmers and other legitimate users of firearms in a bad light with the public at large. I would ask that if anyone has any information which may help identify who shot this badger please to contact me ASAP.”
