Cumbrian sheep in precautionary cull
By Adrienne Francis
ABOUT 100 sheep at farm near Whitehaven, Cumbria, have been slaughtered after blood tests uncovered foot-and-mouth antibodies.
The animals were slaughtered as a precaution against the disease. Further blood test results are awaited later this week.
Tests are continuing in a bid to determine whether foot-and-mouth had broken out on a farm near Pica, Cumbria, reports the Guardian.
