Early warning from cattle
AS Mr Scudamore, the chief vet, advises that it is difficult to recognise the signs of foot-and-mouth in sheep at an early enough stage, why could not cattle be stationed on the periphery of flocks of sheep.
Presumably the signs would be noticed in the cattle early on.
