East Anglian farmers feel the pinch


MANY farmers in what is traditionally one of Britains richest agricultural regions now earn less that the minimum wage, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Incomes for producers in East Anglia have halved since 1996, and fell sharply last year, according to a survey by chartered accountants Larking Gowen.

Prices for arable crops and livestock had fallen while costs, which had fallen in recent years, had started to rise again.
