Farmer caught in Tornado

A NORTH YORKS farmer has been describing how a tornado which hit his farm on Tues (Jul 5) lifted him and his one-tonne cattle trailer into the air.

Albert Parker said he feared for his life when he and the trailer were carried about 10yds by the “twister” before being dumped on the ground.

The tornado, which struck Mr Parker’s farm near the A64, north-east of York, at about 1pm – was the second to hit North Yorkshire in a week.
