Farming Online calls in liquidators
By FWi staff
FOL Networks has started liquidation proceedings after failing to find a buyer for Farming Online, the UKs oldest agricultural internet portal.
Attempts to sell Farming Online proved unsuccessful despite an initial seven figure bid from a farming consortium, said the company.
Creditors are being notified and FOL Networks has appointed chartered accountants Baker Tilley to advise during the liquidation procedure.
Farming Online, which was founded in 1995, was the first agricultural internet service to launch in the UK.
It is expected that FOL will enter formal liquidation by mid-November, when it is also expected that FOL Networks will cease all operations.
The company said it would consider bids for all or part of Farming Onlines assets during the next three weeks.
