Feed wheat quality concern

TED BIRD, of Cannington Grain at Bridgwater in Somerset, says his wheat harvest raises yield and quality concerns.

“Most of the wheat will struggle to hit 72kg/hl.” He says a lot of grain is growing in the ears after wet weather and only 10-15% is fit.

Yields are poor and disappointing on heavy land wheat areas, but better on lighter land.

This week is slow. “Weve only seen two loads of wheat at 23%.”
