Fire kills thousands of ducks
A SEVERE BLAZE at a farm in Lincolnshire has killed almost 5,000 ducks, reports the BBC.
A poultry shed was completely destroyed by the fire in Addlethorpe near Ingoldmells on Monday morning (Aug 30).
4,800 ducks died in the fire, but there were no human injuries. Firefighters say they believe the fire was accidental but investigations are continuing.
Machinery in the 68m-long poultry shed was also destroyed by the flames.
Firefighters evacuated a nearby caravan park and homes because of concerns about an asbestos roof, but people have since been allowed to return.
