FREE INPUT DATA SERVICE SYSTEM
FREE INPUT DATA SERVICE SYSTEM
A NOVEL, free information system that can be run locally on the farm computer is eliminating the need for growers to log on to the internet every time they want to check input details.
Sentinel, from Farmade Management Systems, is a collection of agronomic, business and environmental information.
It includes a picture gallery of pest and disease threats, NIAB recommended lists of cereal, oilseeds and sugar beet varieties, and pesticide label information from all the major agrochemical manufacturers, says Farmade.
It also includes a listing of all currently approved pesticides, plus summaries of the environmental and other MAFF schemes.
The basic version of Sentinel is free, with an enhanced version, Sentinel Active, costing £140/year, which includes weekly pesticide updates via a simple dial-up system.
Sentinel Active provides access to full crop approval details for all approved products, and this will interact with MultiCrop and Agronomist programmes to verify proposed applications against previous field applications and crop approval details.
In collaboration with John Deere, Farmade has also produced the new precision farming software package JDamais. It uses parts of the software companys Advanced Mapping Analysis Information System package to merge data to and from the JD Greenstar precision farming enabling equipment.
