Germans threaten boycott of British beef
POLITICAL pressure is building in Germany for a boycott of British beef.
Politicians, consumers and farmers in the country are joining forces in united opposition to the end of the ban.
The health ministry has not ruled out a unilateral German boycott, which would be in defiance of European Union rules.
It is now examining whether conditions relating to the lifting of the ban are being observed in Britain, according to a report in todays Guardian.
Germany was the only EU state in Mondays meeting to vote against lifting the ban.
