Go-ahead for French BSE test
By FWi staff
THE French ministry of agriculture has given the go-ahead for a huge programme of new cattle tests to learn more about the origins and extent of BSE.
Tests beginning this month will be carried out on 48,000 cattle by the end of the year, at the cost of 25.6m, reports the Financial Times.
The ministry will use a test developed by Swiss company Prionics.
