Guard your turbo

MOST turbochargers fail due to lack of lubrication from hot engine shut downs and cold start-ups, according to West Sussex-based Agriemach.

To remedy the problem, the company has developed the Turbo-Guard – a retrofit lubrication system to automatically supply oil to the turbochargers bearings when the engine is switched off. Oil is stored in a small reservoir before it is transferred to the turbochargers bearings via ball valve and hose.

Turbo-Guard is available in three models – a standard version for commercial vehicles, heavy duty model for agricultural equipment and a high performance type for high speed engines. Designed to be fitted under half an hour, Turbo-Guard is priced from £140 (01342-713743).
