IN BRIEF
MPs have tabled a motion attacking the export of British sheep for the Islamic festival of Eid, during which thousands of sheep are ritually slaughtered.
Sheep have been exported from Dover on the MV Caroline, chartered by Dublin-based Live Sheep Traders and operated by exporter Roger Mills. MPs claim the conditions of transportation and method of killing was unacceptable and contrary to EU law.
