NORTHERN Irish producer Ken Bowsie collected both champion and reserve champion awards at the Hampshire Down 1997 ram test held at Bishop Burton College, Beverley.

This is the second year running that he has taken the championship and his winning lamb grew at 583g a day and had a muscle depth of 37mm.

&#8226 Hampshire Down breed improvement is to benefit from a new scheme launched at the ram test open day. This will identify superior producing stock using BLUP and sire referencing.
