IN BRIEF

&#8226 UP TO 85,000t of UK wheat could head to Bangladesh in the next two weeks, following a 150,000t tender.

"We need Bangladesh as a third country buyer, because it takes the lower-quality wheat," says James Maw of Glencore Grain.

The UK, however, still has a long way to go to clear its export surplus, he warns. The French market is now hovering close to intervention levels and more than a £2/t rise in UK prices could prompt buyers to look to Europe.
