IN BRIEF

uRESEARCHERS at ADAS Terrington are hoping to find a balance between amino acids and proteins in grower and finisher pig feed to cut nitrogen excretion and pollution, but without affecting growth rates. Pigs will be fed five rations through to finishing under commercial conditions in the MAFF-funded trial. The results should be known next March. ADAS researcher, Roger Kay, says the findings should help producers adhere to limits introduced in nitrate vulnerable zones and under the EC directive for integrated pollution prevention control. &#42
