• THE National Trust bought the 4118 acres in the Snowdonia National Park for £3.65m the guide price was £3m.
Marketed in July and including one third of the summit of Snowdon, the hill farms and buildings bids were received from Welsh and UK charities. Carter Jonas acted for vendor Richard Williams.
• BRUTON Knowles recently auctioned 12.65 acres of arable land adjacent to Junction 10 of the M5 motorway. Bidding started at £20,000 and the land was knocked down at £72,000 (£5691/acre) to a local businessman/farmer.
Known as the Sally Ground, the land at Elmstone, Hardwicke, Glos, was subject to an uplift clause for development potential purposes over the next 21 years.
• TWO lots of meadow land at Corsley, near Warminster, Wilts, also sold at auction.
Lot 1 – 14.89 acres of meadow and copse averaged £1947/acre and lot 2 achieved £40,000 (£2289/acre). Auctioneer Martin Hemmett, Cooper & Tanner said: "The demand for accommodation land albeit of secondary quality is still strong.
