Jourdan drops Sims Food bid


THE consumer group Jourdan is dropping its bid for Sims Food, the beefburger supplier for which it made a hostile bid last month.

Sims said earlier in the week that it had agreed an offer from another quoted foods group Global Group.

Jourdan said it would not be revising its offer for Sims and that it would be selling the 12% stake that it had built up in Sims to Global Group.
