Lick abortion with feed supplement
CURRENT insufficient supplies of toxoplasmosis vaccine mean a sheep lick containing Deccox, to protect ewes against toxoplasmosis abortion, has been launched by Zintec.
Providing 2mg of Deccox/kg of live weight, the feed supplement should be fed 14 weeks prior to lambing to ensure protection, says the company.
The supplement also contains minerals, trace elements, vitamins and protein, and is claimed to provide required nutrition for in-lamb ewes.
The lick is available either as a 20kg bucket, costing £27, or as a free access mineral in 20kg bags, costing £24. (01568-708008, fax 01568-708987)
