Low volume crop drier
HIGH capacity mixed flow driers need to be full of grain before efficient and effective drying can begin, points out Perry of Oakley.
The disadvantage of these systems though, says the company, is that if only small volumes of grain need to be dried, the capacity of the drier may exceed that of the available corn.
Perrys solution has been to develop a split column drying system which has a central division inside the main chamber. This effectively halves the amount of grain and time required to commence drying.
Available on 3m to 6m Perry Allmet driers, the split column system also offers the ability to dry smaller batches of crop. *
