Lungworm threat

LUNGWORM larvae numbers on pasture are likely to increase with a return to wet summer weather, increasing risks of husk outbreaks in cattle, warns Cheshire vet Den Leonard.

"Unvaccinated calves in particular are at risk, but even adult stock which have acquired an immunity can show signs of husk when the challenge is high enough. Strategic use of a wormer, effective against lungworm, is needed where a problem is suspected, after consultation with your vet." &#42
