• THE average SQQ for lambs sold through Scottish auctions for the week ending Feb 14 was 107p/kg lw, reports the Meat and Livestock Commission. This was 8.6p/kg lower than last years. However, the combined market throughput in Scotland over the last six weeks, has been 3% of volumes passing through markets in the equivalent period last year.
• ACCORDING to Agrosofts Pigfacts, the gap between UK and EU pig prices is closing. In early December, prices were 14p higher, than average UK prices. By the end of January this had narrowed to 11p. *
