Meadowgrass rise

ANNUAL meadowgrass is becoming a far more significant weed concern for spring break crop growers, according to an independent survey of 200 leading growers.

Cleavers were rated very or most important by two-thirds of respondents, wild oats by 61%, blackgrass by 48% and annual meadow-grass by 46%.

"The results confirm earlier evidence that annual meadowgrass is becoming increasingly important," says BASFs Diane Lovesy.

The frims herbicide Aramo (tepraloxydim) is the only graminicide to control annual meadow-grass in broad-leaved crops, she notes. &#42
