Meeting & making new friends in SW Norfolk
I AM often asked how the Farm Womens Club can recruit new members. Well in Norfolk South West, Janet Watkins was asked to come and speak and she was so impressed with such a friendly and hospitable group she signed up there and then!
Her friend, contact leader Marian Garrett, is one of those increasingly rare people who has taken the job in her stride and is happy to throw her home open for meetings.
When she wants to call order, she sounds very much like Betty Boothroyd but she knows how to organise an enjoyable afternoon out. At the meeting I joined, a contribution lunch was all the members had to bring along. Marian supplied an amusing quiz for us to puzzle over while the more energetic ones of the party took a swim.
The strength of a club such as FWC is that we can provide interesting and enjoyable meetings where new friends can be made. So, if you want to expand your group, make sure everyone gets a warm welcome and receives some special attention while they get to know the members.
