Members reject NFU OTMS proposal

NFU members have rejected the unions proposal to accept price cuts in the Over Thirty Months cattle-cull compensation scheme (OTMS).

The NFU proposal would have involved lower prices per kilogram in return for the abandonment of the Governments weight ceiling – 560kg – for OTMS payments.

It is believed that only the south-west region supported the NFU proposal.
