Milk sales booster
UK DAIRY farmers have voted in favour of a multi-million pound campaign to boost milk sales.
Money spent on milk advertising has plummeted from £25m a year, to £2-£3m since the deregulation of the Milk Marketing Board.
The new generic campaign, will cost £10 million a year and is forecast to increase annual raw milk sales by as much as 135m litres (240 million pints).
Proponents say milk prices will be boosted by 0.24ppl, giving an average farmer donating £250 a year, a £1200 increase in returns from milk sales.
